About Speaking of Art

Speaking of Art is an art education company based in Fort Worth, Texas. We help people learn about art and engage with it in a spirit of curiosity. Our "less is more” philosophy offers a focused look at art, allowing for true engagement. We love sharing practical tips for making time with art more enriching and enjoyable.

Speaking of Art grew from Erin Starr White’s work as an art historian, museum educator, and experience designer. She brings those perspectives together in her thoughtful, down-to-earth teaching style.

Founder & art historian

Erin Starr White is an art historian, artist, and experience designer who has helped people learn about and enjoy art for over 20 years. She earned a master's degree in art history from Texas Christian University, where she focused on modern and contemporary art. Her first art loves were the masters of the Italian Renaissance and Henri Matisse.

Erin has led the docent program at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, where she launched Slow Art tours. She has lectured at Tate Britain, taught art and design history at Texas Christian University and Dallas College, and led tours at the Amon Carter Museum of American Art and the Fort Worth Botanic Garden. She also served as curator at the Botanical Research Institute of Texas, where she organized exhibitions related to the natural world.

Today, Erin uses her background in art history and human-centered design to create meaningful art experiences. She’s happiest talking about art with others, and hiking in beautiful places.

I created Speaking of Art to help people connect with art and each other, to help them find a new spark.

Art has so much to share. I love hearing clients’ unique perspectives and seeing how it adds to their lives.
