Our gallery talks take place at museums throughout Dallas–Fort Worth. Popular locations include the Amon Carter Museum of American Art, the Kimbell Art Museum, the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth, the Dallas Museum of Art, and the Nasher Sculpture Center.

Starting rate — $350
Up to 4 participants
Additional participants — $50 each
Maximum 10 participants total
Museum admission, when required, is purchased separately by participants.

After booking, you’ll receive a confirmation email with the meeting spot.
Gallery talks involve standing and walking short distances. Outdoor talks involve more walking.
Wheelchair accessibility varies by outdoor talk route.
Outdoor talks may be delayed by up to 30 minutes due to rain or lightning. We’ll cancel the talk if conditions make it unsafe to proceed.

Learning the language of art
Learn how to look at art and talk about what you see with confidence.
As we explore a selection of artworks, you’ll learn how to use the language of art—color, composition, style, and more. This relaxed introduction will give you an understanding of what to look for in a work of art and how to put your observations into words.

Modern art has a fascinating and colorful history, full of experimentation, opposition, and spirit. As we trace the evolution of modern art across one museum's collection, we’ll look at pieces from several artistic movements. You’ll leave with a clearer understanding of why modernism happened and just what makes art modern.

Understanding contemporary art
How is contemporary art different from art of the past? How do I talk about it?
These questions are common, and for good reason. The art of the past 50 years often looks very different from what came before. It can be delightful, confusing, and provocative.
We explore how the art of our time is grounded in past art, how it’s broken away, and how it speaks to the present moment.

The architecture of Fort Worth's Cultural District
Louis Kahn, Philip Johnson, Renzo Piano, and Tadao Ando shaped Fort Worth’s Cultural District into a destination for architecture lovers worldwide.
This outdoor talk explores how four landmark museum buildings came to be. We’ll examine each architect’s vision, material choices, and the ongoing conversation amongst the buildings.

The art of downtown Fort Worth
Fort Worth is known as the city of “Cowboys and Culture,” and downtown is filled with art that reflects both sides of this dynamic city.
Join us for a curated exploration of some of downtown Fort Worth’s most interesting art. We’ll look at a range of artistic styles and mediums while learning about the artists, ideas, and stories behind the works we encounter.

Our standard gallery talks explore different subjects through works of art in local museums and art spaces.
We also offer custom gallery talks developed around a topic of your choice.
Both options encourage conversation and provide meaningful context for the works of art.

While each gallery talk is unique, they typically include:
An introduction to the subject and selected works of art
Guided looking and conversation
Art historical context and ways of thinking about the works
Time for reflection and closing thoughts

Gallery talks are for groups of friends, community organizations, book clubs, and others interested in exploring art together. No prior art knowledge is required—curiosity is all you need.

We work with groups of up to 10. Gallery talks are kept small to create a relaxed learning environment and encourage conversation.

Admission to museums is not included in the cost of the gallery talk. If admission is required, participants purchase their own tickets separately.

Gallery talks take place at select museums and art spaces across Dallas–Fort Worth. Some talks are outdoors.

We recommend booking your gallery talk 2–3 weeks in advance.
If you’re interested in a subject outside our standard topics, please send your request 3–4 weeks before your preferred date. Availability for custom gallery talks is not guaranteed and depends on scheduling and venue requirements.
